昨天無意間轉到電影台，正好播出Notting Hill。記得以前大學室友莎拉似乎很推薦這部浪漫喜劇，基於好奇心就看了一下。

Notting Hill 是由英國紳士 Hugh Grant 和 美國甜心 Julia Roberts 聯合編織書店宅遇見女明星的都會浪漫神話，

（有趣的是，通常這類型的愛情故事，若社經地位較低的是女方，大多會上演"麻雀變鳳凰"的變身橋段；相較之下，社經地位較低的若是男方，則如此片，身為無名小卒的 Willam 幾乎沒有甚麼強調外型的變化，反而口才越拙劣，服裝造型越狼狽，越被視為誠懇有魅力的表現。另個例子是 Will Smith 主演電影 "Hitch" 中的 all thumbs Albert，在他追求美麗善良名媛的過程中，似乎也沒有特別安排他進美容院或西裝店，來個徹底的 makeover。）

其中Willam的室友 Spike，是個無厘頭的爆笑甘草人物。

	William closes his eyes in exasperation.

		Who were the ones you didn't write
		down from?

				SPIKE
		Ahm let's see -- ahm.  No.  Gone 
		completely.  Oh no, wait.  There was --
		one from your mum: she said don't 
		forget lunch and her leg's hurting 
		again.

				WILLIAM
		Right.  No one else?

				SPIKE
		Absolutely not.

	Spike leans back and relaxes.

				SPIKE
		Though if we're going for this 
		obsessive writing-down-all-messages
		thing -- some American girl called 
		Anna called a few days ago.

	William freezes -- then looks at Spike.

				WILLIAM
		What did she say?

				SPIKE
		Well, it was genuinely bizarre... 
		she said, hi -- it's Anna -- and then 
		she said, call me at the Ritz -- and 
		then gave herself a completely 
		different name.

				WILLIAM
		Which was?

				SPIKE
		Absolutely no idea.  Remembering one 
		name's bad enough...
